The road goes through Bhowali, then down the valley towards Almora: 14 km, about 30 min by car. We can help you book a taxi for the morning.
When to go
Go early in the morning, above all on weekends and holidays, when the road and the ashram are busiest.
The ashram’s foundation day, 15 June, draws very large crowds: plan for long waits and road diversions then, and book your stay early. Check the ashram’s own notices for its current timings and rules before you go.
